Honeycrisp Apple - Honeycrisp apples are becoming the most popular apple in the WORLD! Honeycrisp apples were developed and released by the University of MN in 1991. Honeycrisp apples were the reason we started our business and why we developed the "Explosively Crisp" Brand! We like to say when comparing to other apples - "You got the look but do you have the CRUNCH?". Like McIntosh, Explosively Crisp Honeycrisp do best when grown in the coldest areas of the country. That is why are gift boxes come from the Champlain Valley of New York located on Lake Champlain (Home of Champy) just south of the Canadian Border. For many consumers once trying Honeycrisp Apples it is hard for them to go back to the rest of the apple line up. Its alot like driving a Cadillac and then going back to driving a Ford or a Chevy. Feel free to check out the comments by everyday people in our Guestbook. After trying Explosively Crisp Honeycrisp feel free to leave your experience.

McIntosh Apple - McIntosh Apples discovered in 1811 by John McIntosh. Just like you got when a kid! People love to make sauce with McIntosh but a fresh McIntosh apple is an excellent eating apple. We pride ourselves that the Macs that come from McIntosh Country are by far the best McIntosh apples. Just a note that Chazy Apples in New York is the largest McIntosh Apple Orchard in the World.
Cortland Apple - Cortland Apples were discovered at the NYS Horticultural Center in Geneva New York in 1898. Cortland Apples are juicy, sweet with a hint of tartness with a great white flesh that is great for salads. Cortland are great for eating, salads, pies and baking.
Macoun Apple - Macoun Apples are know as the New England Dessert apple. Macoun was developed at the NYS Horticultural Center in Geneva New York in 1932 but named after a Canadian fruit breeder.
Gala Apple - Gala Apples were Developed by our friends across the pond in New Zealand. Since that time while some are redder and some still have the yellow and red color the quality is still present. Gala apples are considered another premium dessert apple with a mild flavor that even the pickiest eaters enjoy. With a mild sweet flavor and thin skin make this a great choice for kids. Another note Stark Bros Nursery has developed a new Gala called Grand Gala that is larger than any other gala.
Empire Apple - Empire Apples stored correctly have a crunchy texture that kids love due to the sweet-tart taste. The Empire apple was developed in 1966 at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva as a cross between Red Delicious and McIntosh. Empire apples are ideal for eating and salads but also great for sauce, baking, pies and freezing. A piece of historical data is that the Empire that you see that are dark dark red are Royal Empire which is an Empire apple sport found at the Teeple Farm in Wolcott, NY along the banks of Lake Ontario
Red Delicious Apple - Red Delicious apples are considered popular, mildly sweet and are grown across the country. Known to be sweet, juicy, with a yellow flesh. Our NY apple promotion arm, NYS Apple Association says it best when they say "Special Hint.... Red Delicious apples look great for a long time so they are the favored choice for holiday centerpieces and wreaths." as far as this author is concerned thats a great use. Little know fact that Stark Bros. Nursery in Louisiana, MO developed Red Delicious & Golden Delicious apple trees in the 1930's and still sell them today! This most popular, oldest fruit tree Nursery was even featured on Paul Harvey, "Now you know the rest of the Story".
